Standard Effects
Spatial FX
Hi. I made this tool because I wanted a simple, free way to tweak audio files. No sign-ups, no watermarks, just effects.
It's a Free Audio Editor that runs right in your browser. You can boost bass, create 8D audio, change speed and pitch, add reverb, and then download the new file. All for free.
What This Tool Actually Is
It's not a full studio. It's a focused tool for quick audio transformations. Think of it like a Swiss Army knife for common audio tasks.
You upload a song or a recording. Then you play with the sliders and toggles to change how it sounds. When you're happy, you hit download. That's the whole process.
The main things it does are Bass Boost, 8D Sound effects, Speed/Pitch change, Reverb, and a Low-Pass filter. It also converts your file to a standard WAV when you download.
How to Use It (Step-by-Step)
First, click the "Upload Audio File" button. Pick any audio file from your computer - MP3, WAV, M4A, it should work.
Once it's loaded, you'll see a player. You can play it to hear the original. All the controls below will light up.
Now the fun part. There are two main sections: "Standard Effects" and "Spatial FX."
- Speed: Make it slower (like a "slowed + reverb" effect) or faster.
- Pitch: Change the key. This only affects the downloaded file, not the live playback (browser limitation).
- Bass Boost: This is the big one. Slide it up to add serious low-end punch.
- 8D Audio: Flip the toggle. It makes the sound move around your head. Use the speed slider to control how fast it spins.
- Reverb: Add echo, from a small room to a huge hall.
- Low-Pass Filter: Cuts out high frequencies for a muffled, "underwater" or distant sound.
When you're done, click the big "Download Processed Audio" button. It'll process everything and save a new WAV file to your computer.
Key Features I'm Proud Of
I tried to make it both powerful and easy.
- Real-Time Preview: For most effects (except pitch), you hear the changes immediately as you move the sliders.
- True 8D Audio: It's not just a stereo pan. It uses a 3D audio panner to actually move the sound around in a circle.
- Offline Processing: The download uses a high-quality offline renderer, so the final file sounds clean, not glitchy.
- Privacy Focused: Everything happens in your browser. Your audio never gets uploaded to my server or anywhere else.
- No Limits: No file size limits (within reason), no ads popping up, no "pro version" nagging.
Who Is This Audio Editor For?
It's for anyone who needs to tweak audio quickly. Maybe you're a content creator wanting a cool effect for a video. A musician making a quick demo. A gamer creating custom sound alerts.
It's also great for just having fun. See what your favorite song sounds like with massive bass or in 8D. It's surprisingly entertaining.
Common Uses I've Found
People use it for all sorts of things:
- Creating "slowed + reverb" versions of songs for TikTok or YouTube Shorts.
- Boosting the bass in a podcast recording to make a voice sound deeper.
- Making unique 8D audio tracks to listen to with headphones.
- Changing the pitch of a sample to fit into a music project.
- Adding a bit of reverb to dry vocal recordings.
- Just learning about how different audio effects work by playing with them.
Things to Keep in Mind
It's a web tool, so it has limits. Extremely long files (like hour-long podcasts) might make the browser slow during processing.
The pitch change effect is only applied when you download. You won't hear it in the live player, but it will be in the final file. I wish browsers allowed real-time pitch shifting, but they don't yet.
It outputs WAV files, which are high quality but can be large. If you need an MP3, you can convert the WAV afterward with another tool.
The sound quality is very good, but it's not "professional studio" grade. For most uses, it's more than enough.
Final Thoughts
So that's my Free Audio Editor. I built it to scratch my own itch and decided to put it online for others.
It's a work in progress. I might add more effects later if people want them. But for now, it does the core things really well: Bass Boost, 8D Sound, and basic editing/conversion.
Give it a try. Upload a song, crank the bass, flip on the 8D, and see what you think. I hope you find it useful.
Frequently Asked Questions
What audio file formats can I upload?
The tool accepts any audio file your browser can play (MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, etc.). If you can play it in a normal web player, it should work here.
Is there a file size limit?
There's no hardcoded limit, but your browser and computer memory are the constraints. Very large files (e.g., over 100MB) might cause the page to become slow or unresponsive. For typical songs (3-10 MB), it's perfect.
Why can't I hear the pitch change in the player?
This is a technical limitation of web browsers. They don't allow real-time pitch shifting on media elements. The pitch change is applied perfectly during the offline rendering step when you download, so the final file will have it.
What is "8D Audio" actually doing?
It's using a 3D audio panner (Web Audio API's PannerNode) to move the sound source in a circle around your head. When you listen with headphones, it creates the illusion of the sound moving around you. The speed slider controls how fast it moves.
Are my files uploaded to your server?
No. Absolutely not. All processing—uploading, applying effects, and downloading—happens locally in your web browser. I never see or have access to your audio files.
The download is taking a long time, is that normal?
Yes, for longer files. The tool has to re-process the entire audio file with all your effects applied. A 5-minute song might take 10-20 seconds to process and prepare for download. The button will say "Processing..." while it works.
